Water pumping with photovoltaics is valuable in livestock
production, can assist in conservation management and can
be the least expensive alternative to grid extension on windmills
in the open spaces of the Western US. In addition many remote
homes and ranches have separate water pumping systems for their
domestic needs.
Design and implementation of water pumping projects for individual
landowners, ranchers, the Nature Conservancy and Rural Electric
Cooperatives. Projects vary from providing water for a few
cattle to several hundred. Key considerations are well depth,
water requirement, water condition, and location. Pumping
systems can be trailer mounted to move from well to well.
In conservation, water pumping is useful to move livestock
out of sensitive habitat around streams, rivers, and lakes.
