Project Description: |
|
Solar electrical systems can be connected throughout a utility
grid to provide an additional power source. This is particularly
useful in many parts of the world where electricity is expensive
and unreliable such as developing countries. In many cases,
the photovoltaic systems are the primary source with the utility
grid providing backup power. Individuals and organizations
are also putting in solar electric systems for their green
"benefits", to know that they are getting some
or all of their power from clean energy sources and that they
are not contributing to global warming and pollution as in
the case of fossil fuel power plants.

Results: |
|
Grid
connected solar power is an expensive option compared to conventional
electricity in the US. It makes the most sense in areas where
power in not reliable and can serve as a backup or in countries
with expensive electricity.
